The artist
Saifullah Nafeesi
An international award-winning painter working in oil, known for bringing Quranic calligraphy into a contemporary abstract idiom. The scripture is not laid over the painting — it is built into it, chosen to match the mood and meaning of the work.
The paintings are made almost entirely with the palette knife, so the surface carries real weight and texture. Colour is worked thickly, and the letterforms emerge from it rather than sitting on top.
Work is collected internationally and ships worldwide. Every piece leaves the studio signed, with a certificate of authenticity.
